The history of Fontana Arte began in 1881. At that time, it was a workshop specialised in making crystal and glass. When Gio Ponti became the art director in the 1930s, the company discovered success through the creation of iconic pieces like the Bilia lamp, the 1932 table and the Cartoccio vase.
