Barovier&Toso
Barovier&Toso retailer for Hong Kong and Macao
The Barovier family has made glass since 1295 on Murano, an island in the Venetian lagoon famous for its glassworks. The power behind the longevity of this tradition, over seven centuries, is the passion and love that they have for a unique process that can only be done on Murano, a fertile ground for helping talented young people learn and grow in the art of glass making. Many secrets that are now the basis for Barovier&Toso’s production were discovered during the Italian Renaissance, between 1400 and 1600. As Baroque style became more popular in Europe, many glass factories opened, but despite the competition, the Barovier family managed to protect their art and, in the early 1900s, thanks to collaborations with several artists and designers, they were recognized. Later, in 1936, Barovier purchased the property of Ferro Toso.
The company’s objective was to create something unique that would be able to resist the temptations of passing fads and last forever. Barovier&Toso luminaires are unique creations, actual works of art in which advanced technologies and marvellous decorations blend to convey new emotions every day. The various proposals include chandeliers in Murano glass in both classic and contemporary styles, which are destined to become the centre of any room through their impressive appearance and authenticity.
